In a historic move the State of Wyoming has acquired a stake in Strive Inc. (ASST), a prominent Bitcoin treasury company co-founded by Vivek Ramaswamy. This marks one of the first instances of a U.S. state investing public funds in a publicly traded company whose primary strategy centers on accumulating and holding Bitcoin as a core treasury asset.
Recent disclosures show Wyoming holds 151,595 shares of Strive's Class A Common stock, valued at approximately $111,000 as of December 31, 2025. Strive has rapidly emerged as a leading Bitcoin treasury firm, holding approximately 13,132 Bitcoin as of the latest updates from early 2026. The company's Bitcoin holdings are currently valued at roughly $946 million. This positions Strive among the top public corporate Bitcoin holders globally.
Strive executed a 1-for-20 reverse stock split effective February 6, 2026, consolidating every 20 pre-split shares into 1 post-split share (with fractional shares rounded up to the nearest whole share per company policy and standard practices). As a result, Wyoming's holding adjusted proportionally to approximately 7,580 shares post-split (151,595 ÷ 20 = 7,579.75, rounded accordingly). This adjustment does not change the economic exposure or value of the stake at the time but reflects the updated share count in current terms.
The stake, though modest in size, carries significant symbolic weight. It aligns with Wyoming's broader efforts to embrace Bitcoin innovation and could inspire other states to explore similar allocations amid growing institutional adoption.
While critics highlight Bitcoin's price volatility as a risk to taxpayer funds, proponents argue it offers diversification and substantial upside in an asset class with strong long-term fundamentals. Strive's stock closed at $9.62 on March 4, 2026 (up 15.49% that day), reflecting market enthusiasm tied to Bitcoin's recent movements.
This pioneering investment by a U.S. state bridges traditional public finance and Bitcoin strategies, potentially setting a precedent for broader governmental participation in the space. Strive continues providing investors indirect exposure through its equity.
