Strategy Projected to Hold More BTC Than BlackRock's IBIT By Next Week

BitcoinTreasuries.NET can now project that Strategy will soon hold more Bitcoin than BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, a historic milestone officially projected to arrive next Monday.
As of the time of writing, Strategy holds 780,897 BTC compared to the 791,272 BTC held by BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, or IBIT, according to BT data.
However, via the firm's STRC preferred equity instrument, BitcoinStrategies.NET estimates that Strategy is set to surpass IBIT's holdings by purchasing more than 25,000 BTC over the course of this week.

By contrast, bitcoin ETF inflows remain comparatively small — IBIT added only 3,000 BTC this week, according to available market data.
Official figures will be confirmed in Strategy’s next SEC filing, expected next Monday.
Strategy has already bought more than 108,000 BTC so far in 2026. The success of STRC proves its viability as a catalyst for more accumulation.
The recent pace of purchases supports the development of a long-term trend that puts Strategy on a path to own 1 million BTC by November, according to BitcoinTreasuries.NET data.

Strategy's overtaking of BlackRock represents what is perhaps a seminal moment in Bitcoin finance. Notably, it comes during a bear market period, proving firms like Strategy can execute disciplined accumulation strategies outside of bull markets.
Additionally, the entrance of major players like Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs into the ETF suggests that IBIT's pole position may be subject to competition, especially on fee pricing. Meanwhile, Strategy's STRC stands apart, acting as a vehicle to convert global credit market demand into Bitcoin on the balance sheet.
"The ETF era brought Bitcoin to Wall Street. Strategy is proving what comes next — that a disciplined corporate treasury, armed with financial innovation, can outpace the world's largest asset manager," Tyler Rowe, head of video production and podcasts at BitcoinTreasuries.NET, said of the news. "And unlike an ETF, they're not selling. This is what the balance sheet era looks like."
