The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio has increased its position in Strategy Inc., acquiring an additional 12,453 shares during the fourth quarter, bringing total holdings to 87,689 shares valued at approximately $11 million, according to a 13F filing submitted on February 2, 2026.

STRS Ohio, one of the nation's largest public pension funds with approximately $89 billion in assets under management, previously held 75,236 shares. The 16.6% increase during Q4 2025 demonstrates growing pension fund interest in bitcoin exposure through traditional equity vehicles.

The Ohio teachers' pension fund serves approximately 500,000 active, inactive, and retired public educators.

The increased allocation comes as institutional investors view Strategy as a regulated, liquid proxy for bitcoin investment. The company holds more than 700,000 BTC on its balance sheet, making it the world's largest corporate bitcoin holder.

STRS Ohio's purchase follows similar moves by other major state pension systems as bitcoin gains acceptance as a portfolio diversification asset.

The $11 million position represents a small fraction of STRS Ohio's portfolio, reflecting a cautious approach while acknowledging institutional recognition of bitcoin in diversified strategies.
