Eric Trump-Led American Bitcoin Boosts Mining Power by 12% to Accelerate BTC Treasury Growth

American Bitcoin Corp. (ABTC), co-founded by Eric Trump who serves as Chief Strategy Officer, today announced a major expansion of its mining operations. As a majority-owned subsidiary of Hut 8 Corp, the company focuses on large-scale Bitcoin mining and strategic accumulation to build a substantial BTC treasury.

On March 3, 2026, American Bitcoin revealed the purchase of 11,298 additional Bitcoin mining ASICs. This acquisition is expected to increase the company's hashrate by approximately 12%, adding ~3.05 exahash per second (EH/s) at an outstanding ~13.5 joules per terahash (J/TH) efficiency.

The upgrade will expand the total owned fleet to 89,242 miners, delivering ~28.1 EH/s at an average efficiency of ~16.0 J/TH. The new machines are slated for delivery and deployment this month at the Drumheller site. Once energized, the operational fleet will include 58,999 miners producing ~25.0 EH/s at ~14.1 J/TH efficiency.

This strategic step strengthens American Bitcoin's approach of mining Bitcoin at costs significantly below spot market prices to maximize holdings. In Q4 2025, the company achieved a 53% discount to spot, blending efficient self-mining with disciplined treasury strategies. The advanced hardware further improves energy efficiency and adaptability to evolving network and market conditions.
