Volume

Volume refers to the total number of times an asset changes hands within a specific period, typically a day. It can be tracked in terms of the asset itself or its trading counterpart, such as U.S. dollars or other currencies. Volume figures may represent a single market or aggregate activity across multiple exchanges. Additionally, trading volume is often categorized by asset pairs, for example, tracking the amount of Bitcoin traded against U.S. dollars separately from Bitcoin traded against Euros. Monitoring volume helps traders gauge market activity and liquidity.
