Strategy has continued its aggressive bitcoin accumulation strategy with the acquisition of 22,305 BTC for approximately $2.13 billion, the company announced Monday. The purchase was made at an average price of $95,284 per bitcoin.

The latest acquisition brings Strategy's total bitcoin holdings to 709,715 BTC as of January 19, 2026. The company's entire bitcoin treasury was acquired for roughly $53.92 billion at an average price of $75,979 per bitcoin, representing a substantial unrealized gain at current market prices.

The purchase was funded through the company's at-the-market equity program, with $294.3 million coming from the sale of its perpetual preferred stock Stretch and the remainder from common stock sales.

The purchase represents one of Strategy's largest single bitcoin acquisitions in recent months, underscoring the company's unwavering commitment to its bitcoin-first treasury strategy. At current market values, Strategy's bitcoin holdings represent tens of billions of dollars in assets, making it the largest corporate holder of bitcoin worldwide.

Strategy's approach of consistently purchasing bitcoin regardless of short-term price fluctuations has become a hallmark of its corporate strategy. The company has maintained this disciplined accumulation pattern through various market conditions, viewing bitcoin as a superior treasury reserve asset compared to traditional cash holdings.

The $95,284 average purchase price for this latest tranche indicates Strategy bought during a period of elevated bitcoin prices compared to its overall average cost basis. However, the company has historically demonstrated a long-term perspective on its bitcoin investments, focusing on accumulation rather than market timing.

Strategy has not indicated any plans to slow its bitcoin acquisition pace, suggesting additional purchases may be forthcoming as the company continues to convert treasury assets into bitcoin holdings.
